WEEKLY REFLECTION (FEB 20 - 24)

It was the last week of teaching practice. On Monday itself, I completed 40 lesson plans concerning 8th and 9th standard. I took innovative lesson plan in 9th standard and presented the passage in the form of a news report. In 8th standard, the last portion from the chapter The Merchant of Venice and the textual questions were also completed. On the rest of the days, I had taken the poems 'Solitude' and 'My Grandmother's House' without lesson plans as my mentor teacher asked to do so. Even though, I used PPT slides for presenting the poems. I conducted achievement test in 9th standard on 21st February. 34 out of 38 students attended the exam. WEEKLY REFLECTION ( FEB 13- 17, 2023)

It was the eight week and sadly the second last week of B.ed teaching practice phase. We got only 3 working days and 2 days were scheduled for Annual Day celebration. Students were engaged in practice for the annual day. After the celebration, majority of the students were not present in the class. In 8th standard, I completed two lesson plans and made the students to do perform activities related to the chapter. In 9th standard, due to other school activities, I couldn't get proper classes. So , I made them to do remaining textual activities. On 13th Feb, the school has given a warm farewell to 10th standard students. The program was titled as 'MEMORIES' . The program was formally addressed by H M Indulal Sir, PTA president and their class teachers. Most of the students shared their experience with tearful eyes about their friends, teachers, camps, tour etc. It took me back to my school days and was an emotional moment for everyone. WEEKLY REFLECTION (FEB 6-10, 2023)

It was the seventh week of teaching practice. On Monday, we conducted conscientization program on the topic STRESS MANAGEMENT. The details regarding the event is specially posted as a separate blog. In 8th standard, I completed five lesson plans regarding the chapter 'The Merchant of Venice' as per my planning. In 9th standard, I completed two lesson plans. The remaining one is particularly for innovative session. Activities like communication task, poster making, notice writing, diary entry, report writing etc. were conducted in the classroom on the basis of lesson plans. Students were preparing for the annual day programs and they were all in the realm of upcoming celebration and practices. NCC camp was happening in the school campus. Students from different colleges were practicing in school ground and theory sessions were handled in seminar hall.

CONSCIENTIZATION PROGRAM : STRESS MANAGEMENT

It was the 7th week of teaching practice at Vivekananda H S for Girls, kadampanad. The highlight of this week is conscientization program. Me along with other 3 teacher trainees conducted the conscientization program for 9 A and 9 D on the topic ' STRESS MANAGEMENT '. There were 70 students. We planned the whole session for one hour. All things went well.  Aiswarya begin the program with a formal welcome speech inviting teachers and students. Then, I took over the session and gave an introductory talk about stress management and I developed a rapport with them to group all their attention to the class. I explained about the terms stress and tension and how they are playing a role in their life. I emphasized on some tips to overcome stress like yoga, meditation, walking, travelling, music, oil massage, good sleep etc.. UNION INAUGURATION : SHIKHA

T he  College Union Inauguration and the Arts Club Inauguration of this academic year (2022 to 2024 batch) were held on 04 February 2023 (Saturday). It was good to be a part of their happiness project. Equally glad were we, the seniors, to acknowledge the fact that the ceremonious events were scheduled on Saturday as they expected us to join them amidst the teaching practice. This really brought us immense happiness. The College Union, Shikha 2K22, was inaugurated by Prof. Dr Anilkumar, Registrar, University of Kerala and the Arts Club was inaugurated by the talented violinist, Mr Balaprasad. The forenoon session was run with official inaugural ceremony while the afternoon session was packed with cultural feast. A beautiful show by the violinist was arranged exclusively for us. The BGM at the end of the event added to the glorious advent of "Shikha 2K23."

WEEKLY REFLECTION (JAN 30- FEB 3, 2023)

  It was the 6th week of teaching teaching practice. I am personally feeling satisfied about my journey till the day. This week went in a full-fledged condition according to my plans. In 8th standard, I completed the whole lesson plans of 'The School for Sympathy' and in the following days, I completed the remaining textual activities. I started the next chapter ' The Merchant of Venice' and completed 3 lesson plans in this week. Regarding 9th standard, I have given notes concerning 'A Prayer in Spring'. I have taken 2 ICT based lesson templates on the chapter 'The Trio'. Students were interestingly attended the class in a new manner. They all taken part in the activities related to the chapter. I also premiered the movie of the chapter ' The Happiness Machine'. The school has conducted Junior Red Cross certificate level examination. DIAGNOSTIC AND ACHIEVEMENT TEST WORKSHOP

On 28th January 2023, Saturday, we gathered together in the college auditorium for diagnostic and achievement test workshop and teaching practice reflection. The workshop was led by Dr. Issac Paul sir from Govt. College of Teacher Education. It was really a valuable session for all of us. Instead of focusing completely on Diagnostic and Achievement test, sir tried to cover major aspects of the B.Ed Course. We felt each sentence of him as precious and useful for us to succeed in B.Ed courses. Sir also showed us an example of achievement test and Diagnostic test. As part of the curriculum, we have to construct an achievement test to evaluate the achievements of our students. Before that, we have to do a diagnostic test. Some of our students including me could conduct the exam before itself.
