CONSCIENTIZATION PROGRAM : STRESS MANAGEMENT


It was the 7th week of teaching practice at Vivekananda H S for Girls, kadampanad. The highlight of this week is conscientization program. Me along with other 3 teacher trainees conducted the conscientization program for 9 A and 9 D on the topic 'STRESS MANAGEMENT'. There were 70 students. We planned the whole session for one hour. All things went well. 

Aiswarya begin the program with a formal welcome speech inviting teachers and students. Then, I took over the session and gave an introductory talk about stress management and I developed a rapport with them to group all their attention to the class. I explained about the terms stress and tension and how they are playing a role in their life. I emphasized on some tips to overcome stress like yoga, meditation, walking, travelling, music, oil massage, good sleep etc.. Students were eager to hear out more and they responded how they are tackling stressful situations. Well, it turned out to be an interactive session. Later, Aiswarya performed an activity through music therapy session to draw out their stress. Then, Anjitha talked about acute stress and episodic stress and provided examples. We four together made them to chicken dance. Students liked this one the most among other activities. They were happily and dynamically participated in the activities. Me and Aiswarya jointly made them muscle relaxation techniques. She talked about it and I enacted the steps. At last, Nayana concluded the session with a talk and she made the students to do breathing exercise. Also, at the end some students reviewed the session about their problems, how they are feeling now, the review about our class. Students cooperated with us in a disciplined manner and they loved the session.
