COMMUNITY LIVING CAMP : REVIVE RISE REFLECT

The college hosted the Community Living Camp, which was held from April 10 to April 14, 2023, and was required as a community-based practical in the B.Ed. curriculum. The name of the camp was "RRR," which stood for "Revive Rise Reflect." The topic of the camp was "Learning to Live Together." The five-day camp served as an illustration of the need to revive the splendor of solidarity in a community and to rise to consider the values that were brought into its fold. The activities planned for the camp aimed to develop the participants' interpersonal interaction abilities while creating a special harmony among them. The camp's first day was planned inside the college, and the remaining days were planned at St. Xavier's Animation Centre, Salepuram.

Our B.Ed. class of 51 people came together to make this occasion historic. Everyone was adamant about making the best of the circumstances. We notice the blatant expectations in us from the planning stage forward. Vinoy K. V. and Fathima Salah were chosen as the camp's leaders, and Ms. Nimmi Varghese, the college's principal, served as the camp's coordinator. Other conveners included Mr. Rahul Raj, Fr. Binson P George, Ms. Aiswarya R, Ms. Divya S, Ms. Lin M George, Ms. Nitya Murali, and Ms. Anjana J C. A number of members were also chosen for the categories of food, lodging, programming, reception, finances, and discipline.

The camp was began on April 10, 2023, by Deputy Speaker Sri. Chittayam Gopakumar Sir. We were all urged by Sir to practise the "WATCH- Words, Action, Thought, Character, and Heart" skills. He revived our sense of humanity with his remarks. After the official opening, we began our adventure with a delicious lunch before Sri. Binu Suredran sir's dynamic session, which focused on motivation and mind power.  We moved into a new house to serve as our camp's sole residence the following day. It was a lovely place with a feeling of independence and beauty. The camp served as a place of community for all of us, and we all enjoyed our time there. We were fortunate to have resource people like Sri Brahma Nayakam Mahadevan, Sri Punnapra Jyothikumar, Dr. Joju John Sir, Sri Manoj Suni, Sri Sujathan S, and Sri Vinod M S to guide and connect us with the fundamental notions of unity. These experts all delighted us with their understanding of the numerous facets of learning to coexist.

Every day there were vivid sessions. Each day's titles made it very clear how vital the seminars were. Each day had the names "Ekya," "Samatva," "Svasthya," "Samanwaya," and "Bhavyam." All of the sessions were unusual in that the resource people made sure that they were all handled in an activity-oriented way. Due to this, the sessions were highly fascinating and enjoyable. Other camp activities, such as newspaper presentations, magazine releases, and games, were organised such that each of the five groups—which were chosen at the start of the camp itself—could receive points based on how well they performed. On the camp, the daily schedule was adhered to methodically. Everything else fell into place as a result of the design and implementation phases of the CLC being done in a very notable manner. We were able to have the farewell ceremony at night with H.G. Dr. Zacharias Mar Aprem Metropolitan (College Manager) and Smt. Divya Reji Muhammad (Adoor Municipality Chairperson) in attendance.  We convened for a final reflection session on the last day of camp, during which time the students continuously discussed their camp experiences.

A special mention should be made of the camp centre because it created the ideal atmosphere for the community stay. The location looked to have really good hospitality. It was the ideal location for raising residents' benevolent attitudes and peaceful emotions. In addition to the two dorms, there were rooms that each could accommodate two people. A special mention should be given to the management especially, Sr Silvy and Fr. Benedict, who extended their immense support in food serving. I was given a room to share with another trainees of about 10 members. The opportunity to cohabitate for a few days was unusual. There was a constant effort being made by everyone in the camp to learn how to coexist. Eventually, as the students grew accustomed to their proximity, it was difficult for them to part ways with one another.

For me, I was returning from the camp with a handful of memories. I personally enjoyed the responsibility of being food committee convenor, enjoyed working with my group members. We tried our best to put forward the best hospitality and innovative ideas. Likely, on the last day night, we arranged a candle light dinner. It was mesmerizing and welcomed by everyone. We got splendid good comments over it. Five-day camp was a treasure trove for everyone of us since we could collect a variety of items that would help us function better in society.
